Nine

Yesterday was Noah's 9th birthday. If you are like me you are finding that really hard to believe. How on earth could those 9 years pass by so quickly?
Noah,
You are an amazing little boy! Our little comedian, storyteller, snuggle-bug, with a flair for the dramatic! You brighten our lives each and every day with your sweetness and laughter. We praise God for you!

Some photos from our outing last night - shopping at Toys R Us, dinner at Applebees and cake at home...

And in case you want to come over and share in some cake - this video may make you change your mind...

More flu...

Woke up this morning to the sounds of my daughter throwing up in her bed...
I am still recovering from influenza so the idea of the stomach flu now making its rounds is a less than unwelcome thought... This has been a L O N G winter...

flu

If you are wondering what has kept me from blogging and pretty much the whole of civilization lately it is the flu. Not the 24 hour stomach thing - this is the whole body hurts, coughing sneezing, fever with chills I don't want to get out of bed thing. Robb came home Friday night and that is about the same time that the worst of it set in. I guess that is a good thing, since I really haven't supervised the kids since crawling into bed Friday night, but it sure wasn't the welcome home I had planned. I have been out of bed about a total of 3 hours since Friday night and at least an hour of that was to take a bath since the fever and chills did a real number on me.
No photos - I am NOT a sight to see right now and since I haven't really been downstairs in 3 days I shudder to think of what my house looks like!

My Pocket - a poem from Ben

My Pocket
A Superman
A paper clip
A bit of gum
A potato chip
A pocket knife
An old man
An old pencil
and Jackie Chan
A little book
A little church
A piece of glass
A bird's perch
A bit of lead
A little school
A guy that died
and casper the goul
A microscope
A pencil from class
A really fat man
A paper pass
A little sand
A tiny rocket
even this poem
is in my pocket!

A look back... waaaaay back!

I am in a bit of a nostalgic mood - maybe with a touch of self degradation...

Me 1970 - AAWWWWW! Yeah, I was a cutie...

EEEEEK! What happened???

I believe I got to wear each one of these lovely outfits - Lucky me!

Of course my Dad was the real fashion guru - Dig his 1970's car salesman wannabe outfit with the white shoes and matching belt! Of course that TIE was the deal closer!

The first, last and ONLY time you will ever see me with a middriff...

Don't you love a Mom who can sew!

No girl should ever have to suffer through age 12

Oh how I loved this shirt!

Knit, purple and flowers - need I say more

Ahhhh! My wedding day! Look at Robb! He had hair! I wonder if marriage to me is what has made it all fall out...Nah! It must be the kids!

I have a toilet...

No pictures yet - I haven't been out of bed in two days to take one, but as of this evening the toilet is hooked up and working again!
Do you hear the strains of the Hallelujah Chorus ringing in your ears?
