The Bathroom... a work in progress

Well the tearing apart is mostly done now. We are now running into some wiring problems as Elle's electical socket above her dresser no longer works... That slowed things down a bit today while Robb tried to solve that problem (still isn't solved).
The toilet is now gone too.


Robb actually got the tub in place today and the enclosure built for it - I will take pictures of that tomorrow, but for now here is a photo of Robb where my new tub will be. Notice the little access hole for the motor that will be reached through Elle's closet - she thought it was a secret passageway for her though!

Seriously, my kids think I need to find some other guinea pigs for my lighting set up so if you are interested...



We managed to clean the kids' bedrooms out today. Pete tackled the boy's room and did an awesome job and I took on Elle's room... That girl has WAY too much stuff (I need to 'clean' when she isn't there - she didn't want to let go of much...)

Robb has been demolishing our main bathroom and in the next couple of weeks it will be going through a long awaited transformation! I should have taken pictures of Robb tearing out the old cast iron tub! Wow, that was a job and a half! All that stands in the bathroom right now is the stool and that will probably go tomorrow so that they can prepare the floor for tile. Robb will also build the new tub enclosure and drop in the new whirlpool tub. YAY! I am SO excited! I will make a point to take and post pictures - I promise!

I had mint M&Ms for breakfast
The kids and I are still in our pajamas at - oh wait, Peter IS in jeans (the show off, but truth be told he probably slept in them!)
Robb is still sleeping (zzzzzzz...)
The kids are all cooperating!
I actually got TWO decent pictures to show you (and several others! Sorry Kristen, Craig - I had to do it!)
My house is a complete disaster area... oh wait, that is nothing new!
There are legos EVERYWHERE!
There are nerf darts EVERYWHERE
The kids have thanked us a million times!

Thank you God for this glorious day and the miraculous gift of salvation in Jesus Christ!

She gets bored with me pretty quick so I am thrilled to get these!

I have gotten bad about updating

Seems that life gets busy and I let things drop. Updating has been one of them and since my last post was in August I am thinking there is a lot many who MAY check this blog don't know.
* Noah got braces! Only four on the top 4 teeth, but he enjoys the exclusive 'brace face' club we share! I will post pictures - I promise
* All 4 kids are in public school. Long story - good story, but one that deserves it's own post
* I went to Washington DC last weekend with my Mom and sister - another topic worth of its own post with photos!
* Robb informed me this morning that they are moving him back into the Fire Investigation Bureau...
* I got a new laptop =) MacBook PRO - I feel so...so...professional!

Well, those are the major highlights... Thanksgiving is this week and there is much to be thankful for! Besides the obvious I am thankful for PUMKIN SPICE AND GINGERBREAD LATTES almost makes the cold weather something bearable...

City Kids on the Farm

We headed up North to Creighton/Plainview this weekend for a wedding and the kids got to spend an afternoon on Alden and Lisa's farm. Alden thought they should get a little education on the Hog operation - I am sure that the kids will one day be spending summers up there like their dad.

They learned how to move the little pigs...




Jackson even got aquainted (he had a thing for their ears... I wonder why?)


Noah was quite fond of them






Ben wasn't so sure, but he thought the babies were cute

Then it was on to the chickens




Elle and Ben thought they'd bring this egg home to hatch on their own...ummm after I found out Ben had it under his pillow to keep warm I had to put an end to that.


City kids!

Photos from the zoo!

The kids and I (minus Ben since he is at his grandparent's house this week) went to the zoo with some friends yesterday! Since I just got my new camera I decided this would be a great opportunity to snap some pictures =)
We were a group of 13 and kind of on a time crunch so decisions of where to go were made diplomaticly - majority rules!


The highlight of our visit was meeting Ivan the Iguana!





We had fun at the Jungle as well - a little too much fun for some! Who knew that the Jungle was a water park?





And can you believe that I let this kid...

We ended our day with a visit to the fire station to see a really gorgeous fireman!

I bit the bullet and bought a Nikon D200! I am sooo excited!

Elle's Playhouse Bed Update!

I thought you might want to see the progress being made in Elle's room! She has walls, paint and a bed! We still need to do a little more painting, the interior decorating and get some carpeting, but she is now sleeping in her rooftop bed! Please excuse the mess as it is still a work in progress! I need a wider angle lens to take decent pictures in her little pillbox of a room - at 17mm I still can't fit it all in! Her playhouse should at least give her room to play with her toys now!
I will post more pictures when it is all done!
