Update on the Bathroom and 3/366!

Part of the 'fun' of remodeling is the demolition. Note that 'fun' is in 'quotes' meaning I am using a highly sarcastic tone here. Part of the demolition has included tearing down the ceiling in my kitchen. Now those who have been to our home in the past few years might note that this process actually started about 3 years ago when, after a flood in the old bathroom, we removed the drop ceiling and left the lovely mold/mildew drywall ceiling uncovered for all to see. In some ways what you see now 'looks' better. However, dodging things falling from the holes in the bathroom floor and the constant dust and particles that keep landing on my counters, this is one phase that cannot end soon enough.

Here you can see Robb removing the drywall ceiling so that we can view the wiring and pipes...

This is NOT what you want to find - wires just taped together and tied into the knob and tube...

I am surprised we haven't had a fire!

How long had THIS been hiding under the floorboards?

Ahh! A piece of the cast iron tub Robb had to break apart to get out of the bathroom...this little piece along weighed 20lbs (just kidding!). True to my boys being Robb's spawn, they called this 'shrapnel'!

On another note here is what happened to me all because I got too self conscious after Pete told me how 'hairy' my face was.

I was getting my eyebrows waxed and decided that I would go ahead and get all the hair removed from my face. My face rebelled. So much for vainity...

Well, I promised an update of the work in the bathroom! The tub is in and the plumbing all hooked up! The tile is going up on the walls! WooHoo! We had an electrician in yesterday getting all the GFI sockets in and an outlet hooked up for the motor on the tub (I know he will be back to help the wiring disaster in my kitchen soon!). I may be showering upstairs in a week!

Isn't it purdy???
